Welcome to Shanghai!! This is your first judging session here. This week you need to submit a photo to reflect your chosen occupation. Let's start our judging for this week
Alex 'Doctor'
Darren: Hello Sexy Doctor! Your face is very mysterious and i absolutely love that about this photo. I can't really think of anything i dont like... But you nailed the task and proved to keep up the model look.
Philip: Another great photo from you, Alex. I think you nailed the styling part really well. I felt like you were in your character here which is good. And you do look great and handsome in this photo too

AYUBOT doesn't need a doctor as much as she needs a mechanic. AYUBOT appreciates the extra pose and pensive expression. SKIN is flawless.
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:
MATT needs medical assistance. Cure him.
More use of props like stethoscope.
Matt: Had I known you were a doctor, I would have called you to come treat me. You look like you're fresh off the set of Grey's Anatomy in this shot. I love the styling of the photo and the pose is great, too. Perhaps a little bit of prop use would have been nice, as Ayubot suggested. I do really like your photo this week, though.
Ashton 'Cattle-Rancher'
Darren: You raise livestock? I can see you on the cover of a cigarette ad. I wish there was some kind of background that showed more of a cattle rancher. But the your very model like in this so that's a plus.
Philip: You look great. I love the way you played your role but you know what, a good setting would help this photo a lot. Overall, it's a good photo.

AYUBOT wants to borrow that hat. AYUBOT also likes the face. However the photo lacks everything else. ANYONE can put on a COWBOY HAT and say they are a cowboy.
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:
Step up your game. The competition is getting thin.
Matt: This shot fits the theme well, but had the potential to be so much more. I do love me some hot cowboys and you definitely are one here, but it's just lacking a little something that could have taken it to the next level. A setting other than a studio shot would have been wonderful and being able to see a bit more of your body would have been a nice touch, too. I love the expression on your face and the styling and lighting work.
Chris 'Bartender'
Darren: Hm, I dont see you as a Bar Tender here. As a bar visitor yes. The bottles are behind you and your on the opposite side of the counter... The modeling portion of this task is very great but as for the theme task, i'm not really a fan.
Philip: I think the setting is so good and your styling is very different from what we've seen from you before. But Darren's right, this photo would be more perfect if you are standing behind the counter. Overall, I think you did good

AYUBOT sees a bartender in a gay bar. CHRIS COLFER will get a lot of tips and phone numbers. Perhaps a bartender before opening? It is good to see a more masculine side of you.
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:
Get AYUBOT a drink, then we'll talk. Otherwise no real criticisms.
Matt: I have to agree with my little brother that you seem more like a patron than a bartender. You have the styling and the attitude right, but more interaction with any aspect of your occupation would have raised the quality of the picture. This is also one of the times where I would have preferred a picture that was in color, too. Still, you look good in it and I can see a connection to your theme in it, even if I do think that connection could have been stronger.
Henry 'Secret Investigator'
Darren: I was not expecting this. But as you know i love photos that pop out and tell the story. As for the theme it was very well executed and as for the model part it is very well done. Such a fantastic photo. I'm loving your face and how mysterious it looks.
Philip: Nice styling, but once again, you hair didn't really amused me. Too much of hair gel but I think you nailed the theme this week, Henry. Good job!!!

AYUBOT is reminded of Sherlock Holmes. HENRY looks cool, suave and mysterious like a good detective should be. AYUBOT loves HENRY's coat.
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:
Try a more daring pose. Detectives need to be daring.
Matt: This is a nice shot and I see the connection to your occupation easily. If I had to nit-pick, I wish the coat was a tan suede coat as that reads Detective more than the type of coat you are wearing. However, that's just me nit-picking because otherwise, this photo's a very strong one. Good job.
Jared L 'Soldier'
Darren: Okay so the theme is here 100% and the fact that you picked a good occupation. The modeling aspect not so much. I wish your face was clearer and you were more in focus. Maybe if you gave us a photo of you in the uniform posing would have been good enough for me..
Philip: I think my biggest concern here is the modeling aspect of this photo. This screen cap wasn't that bad but at this stage, you need to avoid lot of things because even a simple mistake might cost you a spot to the next round. I love the fact that you picked Soldier. Overall, I still think you can do better than this Jared

THEME CONNECTION very high, but comes at cost of fashion and modelling aspects. MODELLING CONTENT CRITICAL. Very difficult to see any fashion.
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:
Avoid low quality photos.
Matt: You nailed the theme but forgot that this is a modeling competition. It's a shame that such good theme connection is getting dragged down so much by such poor quality in the modeling department. I'm the judge that loves models who pay attention to theme and put heavy emphasis on it, but I feel you sacrificed too much this round to meet your chosen theme.
Taylor 'Yoga Instructor'
Darren: I'm not a fan of this photo. With Yoga your leg in the back wouldnt be awkwardly bent and you wouldnt be dripping wet. I can sort of see you as a failing instructor but thats still good enough. Now as for the modeling aspect of this photo your face isnt very appealing and it's just hard to stay focused on you.
Philip: The angle didn't really helped you in this photo, Taylor. You look like you were tortured here. I love the wetness, but I think your position in this photo really affected the whole picture.
Ayubot: ANALYSING PHOTOGRAPH .

AYUBOT appreciates the risk and loves part of the pose. However one leg is AMPUTATED. FACE looks uncomfortable and neck looks awkward.
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:
Work on showing neck and keeping face in check.
Matt: Uh... huh... That is a severely awkward angle for your head and it makes your face look awkward, too. I'm also not a big fan of how completely soaked you are in this shot. I just don't really understand this shot. However, I do see why you would say Yoga Instructor for this and I do appreciate you taking a risk this week. I'm not sure if it panned out well, but I appreciate you taking it none-the-less.
